Change in SMA-350

Yahoo!Finance changes the unit from 'days' to 'months' in specifying the 350 in SMA-350. Instead of entering 350, enter 29 (= 350/30).

The following chart is created by Yahoo!Finance. If it does not display well on a small screen, copy the following link to your browser to display it on your PC.

It can be created by following the steps; you need to create one yourself to detect the next plunge with current data.
·         From Yahoo!Finance or any chart systems, enter SPY (or S&P 500 index) or a total market ETF for the stock symbol.
·         Select Interactive Chart.
·         Click Technical Indicators.
·         Select SMA (simple moving average).
·         Enter 350 days. Many chart systems including the current (5/2015) Yahoo!Finance use ‘month’ as unit, enter 29 instead of 350.
·         Enter 1-3-2000 on “FROM:”. If last 5 years is used, there may be some short dips from 2011 to mid 2012.
·         Select Draw.
